Every day, children are born with muscular dystrophy and adults are diagnosed with ALS and other life-threatening diseases that take away their most basic freedoms - like walking, talking, eating, hugging, and ultimately life itself.
For 66 years, firefighters have been filling the boot on street corners raising money to help MDA fight back against muscular dystrophy. This year will be a little different, in response to all that has happened in 2020 to keep everyone safe. This year we ask that you donate online to our virtual fill the boot. Money raised will go to help children and adults in our community and will also help support innovative research to change the future for people with neuromuscular disease. The Naperville community has always showed up to support donating to the fill the boot in the streets, we now ask you to show your support by donating online.
In 2019 I was able to take over the fill the boot program for the Naperville firefighters local 4302. I took the opportunity and volunteered to be a counselor at the Illinois MDA summer camp for a week. I was able to meet some of the kids and see how the donations raised gets used to support the kids and allows them to enjoy being kids at a summer camp with activities modified for them.
Any donation helps and we look forward to reaching our goal. Thank You.
